Upon arrival in Casablanca, whether at the airport or your hotel, we’ll warmly welcome you and begin your Morocco Desert Tour. On the second day of your Morocco itinerary 7 days, we’ll begin by traveling from your hotel or riad in Marrakech to the impressive Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah. A UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987, this fortified village has been a backdrop for many famous films. After visiting the kasbah and exploring the nearby film studio, we’ll continue towards Ouarzazate for lunch.
In the afternoon, we’ll make our way to the Oasis of Skoura, a small village, and then travel to the Rose City, passing through the Valley of Roses. We’ll conclude the day with a scenic drive to the Dades Gorges, where we’ll stay overnight in a charming hotel or riad, followed by a delicious dinner.
After a traditional breakfast, we depart from the tranquil town and begin our desert adventure. Our route takes us to the village of Tinghir, a historic Berber settlement, where the name means “shoulder” in the Berber language. Tinghir once served as a military post during French colonization. After a lunch at a local café, we continue our journey toward Erfoud, known as the marble fossil capital of Morocco.
There, we explore the fossil sites before crossing rocky terrain to reach Merzouga. Upon arrival, enjoy a camel ride over the golden sand dunes, capturing stunning photos as the sun sets. Afterward, we make our way to the desert camp where you will have dinner under a star-filled sky, accompanied by traditional nomadic music and dancing around the fire.
After an early wake-up to enjoy a stunning sunrise and a delicious breakfast at the desert camp, your camel guide will lead you back to the vehicle. We’ll begin our journey from the desert to Fes, passing through the beautiful Ziz Valley near Errachidia, the capital of the Tafilalt region. We’ll stop to enjoy a panoramic view of Ziz Valley, capturing the magnificent scenery.
We continue our journey to Midelt, a city famous for its apples and serving as the commercial hub for the surrounding agricultural region. It’s also one of Morocco’s key cities for the mining of various minerals.
After a lunch stop, we’ll proceed through the Middle Atlas Mountains, passing through cedar forests and Berber towns like Imouzar. We’ll take a break in the cedar forest to observe the monkeys living freely in their natural habitat.
Our next stop is Ifrane, known as the “Switzerland of Morocco.” The name “Ifrane” comes from the Amazigh word for caves. In 2013, the city was ranked as the second cleanest city in the world. The outdoor beauty and unique atmosphere make it a special place to visit.You’ll also see the famous stone lion statue in the center of the city.
The modern city of Ifrane was established by the French in 1929. After exploring Ifrane, we’ll continue our journey to Fes, passing through small Berber villages before arriving for an overnight stay at your hotel or riad.
After breakfast in your riad, you’ll begin your exploration of Morocco’s oldest city by wandering through its narrow lanes and charming streets. The tour starts with a visit to the entrance of the Royal Palace, followed by a stroll through the Jewish Quarter, or Mellah, which dates back to the 14th century.
We’ll guide you through the city’s most significant cultural and historical sites, including the renowned Al Quaraouine University, the world’s oldest university, the Tanneries, and the Moulay Idriss Mausoleum. After lunch, we’ll visit a tile cooperative before ending the tour with a panoramic view of the entire Medina of Fes. Overnight stay at your hotel or riad.
After two nights in Fes, we’ll continue our journey to Chefchaouen, the Blue City, passing through Meknes and Volubilis. In Meknes, you’ll have the opportunity to explore one of Morocco’s four imperial cities, visiting its major attractions such as Lahdim Square, the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail, Bab Mansour, and Sahrij Swani (Basin Swani).
We’ll then proceed to Volubilis, where you can explore the beautiful Roman ruins, one of Morocco’s most remarkable archaeological sites, situated in a fertile agricultural region in the north of the country. Afterward, we’ll continue on to Chefchaouen, where you’ll have time to discover the charming blue city and its small, picturesque streets.
On the final day of our 7-day from Casablanca Fes Merzouga Marrakech we’ll begin with a drive to Rabat, the capital city, where we’ll visit two iconic sites.
